Franklin Campus Q&A

There is a website for questions and answers at work regarding the new building going up. This was one of the questions on the Q&A forum.

Your Question:
Now that the speed sensor is on, on the 27th Street exit, any plans to install “blind spot mirrors” in the parking garage? the chance to be t-boned leaving from the first level to the exit is dangerous with people flying through the garage.

Reply:
In the first three years of operation there have been no vehicle accidents in the Franklin parking structure. The goal is to maintain that safety record. Corporate services is planning to evaluate the need for traffic mirrors during construction of the second parking structure. The speed sensor on the Ring Road (on loan at no charge from the Franklin police department) near the 27th Street exit is intended to be a friendly reminder for people to ease up on the gas as they’re leaving. The sensor has logged speeds in excees of 50 mph and the speed limit is 25 mph; so the intent is to raise the awareness of drivers and to be mindful of the speed limit.
