Sprint/NEXTEL very busy with NASCAR politics.

Two releases came out today in regard to Sprint/Nextel and their right to keep competing communication companies out of sponsoring a car, unless they were grandfathered in if they were a sponsor at the time it was still the Winston Cup. Robby Gordon was forced to remove his Motorola logo from his hood before he was allowed to qualify for the Atlanta Race, since it is related to Verizon Wireless. While Motorola is not a carrier, NEXTEL still has an issue with it being on the cup car.

At the same time, at&t has filed a lawsuit against NEXTEL in regard from being barred from changing the #31 Cingular Chevrolet to bearing the new at&t brand name.
